Compulsive / Addictive Behaviors

Compulsive & Addictive Behaviors of all kinds have become surprisingly commonplace among the youth of this generation. With an “instant gratification” mindset, hand in hand with ever-present technology, our youth are typically astounded when required to ask for, pay for, or wait for anything. They have the world at their fingertips (literally) and they often feel entitled to anything their desires may conjure. Most of them are entirely unaware that the mental and emotional muscles they so desperately require, are under siege of serious neglect and atrophy.

The most common areas of concern for families with youth of today’s rising generation are:

  • Technology & Internet Compulsiveness, Dependency, and Addiction:
    • Social Media
    • Pornography
    • Chat Rooms
    • Video Games
  • Physical & Chemical Compulsiveness, Dependency, and Addiction:
    • Self Harm
    • Eating Disorders
    • Sex Addiction
    • Drugs & Alcohol
  • Disrespect of Others & Their Property
    • Vandalism
    • Shoplifting
    • Graffiti
    • Gangs
